The Hanging Tree

If you have read Suzanne Colin's Mockingjay, you'll have heard of this song before. From what I remember (my copy is on lone currently), Katniss's father use to sing it in the forest and it is referenced several times through out the book. It's a beautiful song, just like songs from the previous books. Recently, a YouTuber named Lex Croucher posted a video of herself singing the song over some gorgeous shots of a forest. I'm going to post the lyrics and the video below because I can not stop listening to it. Have a lovely evening, see you tomorrow :)

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree,
Where they strung up a man they say murdered three.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it seem,
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree,
Where the dead man called out for his love to flee.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it seem,
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree,
Where I told you to run, so we'd both be free.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it seem,
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.

Are you, are you
Coming to the tree,
Wear a necklace of rope, side by side with me.
Strange things did happen here
No stranger would it seem,
If we met up at midnight in the hanging tree.
